Reverence of Rebirth

A cicada stands upright at the center of this panel, its wings folded and its body filled with dark, swirling filigree. A teal and white outline lifts it off a layered background of loose brushwork, drips, and coral and blue medallions.

Cicadas spend years underground before climbing out, splitting their shells, and emerging transformed. Painted with the stillness of an icon, this one invites the kind of reverence usually reserved for sacred images, honoring change itself.
