Meet the Artist

Zach Maatman is the artist and illustrator behind Grim Printing Company, working out of Shepherd, Michigan. His designs start as hand-drawn linework (insects, botanicals, and folklore-tinged ornament) before being refined into the bold, print-ready pieces you see on the shop's apparel and stickers.

Rooted in the textures of the Great Lakes, Zach's work leans into detail and contrast: dense ink work balanced against clean, wearable compositions. Every design in the shop starts here, on paper, before it ever touches a hoodie.
